Steamed rice with butter and herbs


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Basmati rice (or mix of brown and wild rice) 
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil 
  • 2-2.5 cups of water 
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Rice rinse thoroughly, fill with cold water and leave overnight. Wash again. Prepare a steamer. Put there rice, salt and pepper and mix. Pour the boiling water. Close and turn on the steamer. Basmati rice is steamed for at least 30 minutes.  But brown or wild rice is steamed for 1 hour.

Depending on what spices you add, rice will turn out with different flavors. You can add turmeric, rosemary, curry, saffron, bay leaf, pepper, peas or other spices.

Serve with dill  and olive oil.
